Here is a classic trilobite fossil. This is a wonderful Elrathia kingi from the Cambrian of Utah. This specimen was found by Steve Hess in 2005. Although this species is one of the most prolific trilobites, this specimen is a very fine example. The trilobite is complete and very well articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The black bug contrasts beautifully with the grey matrix. The trilobite is well positioned on the slab of shale that also contains other trilobite parts. This is a very distinct example of Elrathia kingi.
