This is an extremely rare US trilobite. It is a complete specimen of Cybeloides from the Ordovician of Wisconsin. This specimen was recently acquired from the famous DeRosear Collection. The rarity in this specimen comes from the fact that it is the only known complete Cybeloides ever found in the Platteville Formation! The bug is prone and very 3-dimensionally preserved. The trilobite exhibits very fine detail. The caramel-colored trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the buff-colored matrix. The fossil is well showcased on the large block of limestone. This is an irreplaceable, one-of-a-kind specimen of Cybeloides from the Platteville Formation obtained from the DeRosear Collection (#185).
