This specimen is a fabulous example of Hsuaspis (Estaingia) bilobata from the Emu Bay Shale of Australia. The Emu Bay Shale is similar to the Burgess Shale deposits. Emu Bay has fauna in common with both the younger Burgess Shale and the slightly older Chengjiang Deposits from China. This specimen is complete with both free cheeks intact, which is EXTREMELY uncommon. The detail is exceptional, and the articulation is near-perfect. Even the long genal spines are preserved, and the tiny tail is also tightly attached. This is a textbook example of a very interesting trilobite from Australia.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
