Here is a very beautiful European trilobite. This is Salterocoryphe salteri from the Ordovician of Portugal. This ancient arthropod is complete and wonderfully articulated. Both free cheeks are tightly attached, which is quite unusual for this type. The trilobite has nice natural color and is aesthetially showcased on the large, natural block of dense shale. Many times, the trilobites from this area have no color - not very showy. But this specimen of Salterocoryphe simply displays beautifully.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
