This is a fabulous trilobite fossil. It is a very large, unidentified Asaphid trilobite (possibly Opsimasaphus, Birmanites) from the Ordovician of Morocco. This type of trilobite was found in Bohemia, but is almost unheard of in Morocco. The trilobite is very large - over five and a half inches long! This prone trilobite is EXTREMELY inflated and 3-D. The bug is wonderfully articulated and exhibits very good detail. The striking dark brown color of the trilobite is fully natural and contrasts beautifully with the light brown, dense sandstone block. This is a very well-preserved trilobite that also just happens to be extremely rare.
