This is a fabulous example of a rare trilobite. It is an outstretched Phacops rana norwoodensis from Iowa. This specimen came directly from a major fossil collection and is one of the few prone examples ever found. The trilobite is very inflated and 3-D. The distinct bug has a beautiful creamish-brown colored exoskeleton and great detail preserved. The specimen is well displayed in the rectangular block of limestone. This is a rare complete, outstretched example of a very hard-to-find US trilobite.
