Here is a very impressive trilobite. This is a huge Ceratonurus sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. The trilobite is complete and nicely articulated. The bug is very 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. Both fringed free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The long genal and pleural spines are easily seen - even the tiny, spiny pygidium is intact. This Odontopleurid trilobite has two extremely long and slender occipital spines. These occipital horns, along with both genal spines and TEN long pleural spines, have been meticulously prepared in a free-standing manner. These long spines, reaching toward the heavens, make for a fantastic display. The dark trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The fossil is beautifully presented on the sculpted limestone block. This is a very collectible specimen of this rare spiny trilobite from Morocco.
