Here is a complete example of Kainops raymondi from the Devonian of Oklahoma. This genus of trilobite differs from Paciphacops in having a larger number of eye facets, among other differences. This trilobite is nicely articulated and very 3-dimensional. The individual eye lenses are preserved and the pustules on the large glabella are easily seen. The thick-shelled exoskeleton has nice dark-caramel coloration, and the bug contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The Kainops is well positioned on the large, natural block of limestone that also contains many complete brachiopods. This is very good, complete specimen of Kainops on an unusually large matrix block.
