This is a very nice Moroccan trilobite fossil. It is a sculpted specimen of Hollardops mesocristata from the Devonian of Morocco. The trilobite is very 3-D and extremely inflated. The wonderfully articulated bug is superbly preserved and exhibits excellent detail. The crescent-shaped compound eyes are beautifully displayed, and the tips of the long genal spines have been prepared in a free-standing manner. The black trilobite contrasts extremely well with the light-colored, sculpted limestone. This is a fine example of the Devonian trilobite, Hollardops mesocristata.
