This is one of the most distinct trilobites in the world. It is an excellent Actinopeltis sp. from the Ordovician of Morocco. This amazing specimen is from the Diacalymene concretion layers, not the more common Ktaoua Sandstone Formation. The trilobite is complete and beautifully articulated and outstretched. The bug displays excellent detail - the HUGE bulbous glabella is very easily seen. The natural dark brown trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the lighter-colored concretionary matrix. This is one of the best Actinopeltis from the Diacalymene layers that we have ever seen.
