This is an excellent trilobite that we recently acquired from the DeRosear Collection. It is a very large specimen of Brachyaspidion microps from the Middle Cambrian of Utah. This type of trilobite has a somewhat rectangular cephalon with short genal spines, thirteen thoracic segments, and a small, rounded pygidium. This complete trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits outstanding detail. Both free cheeks are intact and tightly attached. The inflated bug has nice color and contrast and is beautifully showcased on the marbled plate of matrix. This is a wonderful example of Brachyaspidion microps, formerly of the DeRosear Collection (Number 71).
