Here is a large Hollardops mesocristata from the Devonian of Morocco. This specimen was recently acquired from the famous Sam Stubbs Collection. The bug is complete and well articulated. The long, broad genal spines are easily seen, and almost all of the individual lenses of the compound eyes are quite evident. The thoracic segments are clearly defined, and the pygidial lappets are intact. The black trilobite contrasts nicely with the grey matrix. The bug is wonderfully positioned on the block of dense limestone. This is the first Moroccan trilobite that Sam ever owned.
