This is a classic Russian trilobite. It is a large Asaphus (Neoasaphus) kotlukovi from St. Petersburg, Russia. This specimen was recently acquired from the Sam Stubbs Collection. The trilobite is very inflated and prone on the matrix plate. The bug exhibits very fine detail, and the rich, caramel-brown color of the trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The trilobite is nicely showcased on the natural block of limestone. This is was the first Russian trilobite that Sam acquired for his collection.
