Here is a classic US trilobite from a location that is no longer open to collecting. This is an excellent example of Odontocephalus aegeria from the Devonian of Pennsylvania. This specimen was acquired from a famous trilobite collection. The trilobite is extremely prone, which is highly unusual. The ''cowcatcher'' on the front of the cephalon is nicely displayed, and even the individual lenses of both eyes are clearly defined. Also, this bug has two tail spines, unlike most similar types which only have one (i.e., Dalmanites). The 3-dimensional fossil has great contrast and is well presented on the block of matrix. This is a real find - a fabulous example of this highly sought-after trilobite that has been in a collection for over 20 years.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
