This is an extremely rare trilobite. It is a complete Encrinuroides rarus from the Platteville Formation of Wisconsin. This specimen is semi-outstretched, which is quite unusual for this type. The trilobite has excellent detail preserved. The bug is beautifully displayed on a large block of matrix. This specimen is one of only a handful of complete examples of this type ever found. It is one of those elusive fossils that may only surface once in a lifetime.
