This is a very rare Mississippian trilobite. This is Griffithidella welleri from Missouri. This type is found at the same locality as the Breviphillipsia and Comptonaspis, but is much rarer - in fact, this is the only top quality prone example we have ever seen. This type has genal spines, unlike the other two types. The trilobite is very detailed and extremely prone. The bug is well centered on the large block of dense limestone. This is a fabulous specimen of this extremely hard-to-find US trilobite.
