Here is a classic trilobite fossil. This is a very large Elrathia kingi from the Cambrian of Utah. This specimen was found by Steve Hess in 2005. Although this species is one of the most prolific trilobites, this specimen is a very nice example. The trilobite is complete and very well articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The trilobite has been well prepared to preserve the fine detail. The black bug contrasts beautifully with the grey matrix. The trilobite is well centered on the large slab of shale. This is a large, detailed example of a complete Elrathia kingi. This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
