This is a very nice specimen of Hollardops (=Metacanthina) mesocristata from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite is preserved in a stretched out, prone position. The bug is complete, extremely inflated, and exhibits very good detail. The broad genal spines are easily seen. The individual thoracic segments are quite distinct, and the pygidial lappets are all intact. The black color of the trilobite contrasts well with the grey matrix. The trilobite is very well showcased on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a very robust example of Hollardops from the Devonian.
