Here is a rare Utah trilobite. This is Athabaskia sp. from the Spence Shale of Utah. This specimen was found by Steve Hess in 1996 and just now prepared. This trilobite is complete and nicely articulated. The bug is outstretched and exhibits fine detail. The large tail is easily seen, and even the tips of the pleurons are clearly defined. The trilobite is nicely showcased on the large plate of shale. This is a collectible example of a highly uncommon Athabaskia from the Spence Shale.
