This is a great plate of Middle Devonian fossils from New York. This specimen was found many years ago at the famous Penn-Dixie Quarry, and has been in a collection ever since. There are three large examples of Phacops on the plate. The trilobites are inflated and exhibit fine detail. The individual facets of the eyes and the pustulose glabellas are extremely well preserved. There are also trilobite parts, horncorals and brachiopods preserved on the slab. The fossils are nicely showcased on the very large, natural matrix plate. This is a very collectible multiple specimen of Phacops and others from New York.
