This is a large Devonian trilobite. It is a huge (almost five inches long!) Zlichovaspis rugosa from the Morocco. This 3-dimensional trilobite is not only large, it is also very well preserved. This outstretched bug is wonderfully articulated and exhibits very fine detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The sweeping genal spines are aesthetically displayed, and the long, pointed caudal spine is quite impressive. The large, yellow eyes display the many compound eye facets beautifully. The trilobite has great natural color and is wonderfully showcased on the sculpted limestone block. This is a monster of a trilobite that is very impressive in person.
