Here is a fabulous example of Bumastus ioxus from the Rochester Shale. This trilobite is complete and nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The bug is quite prone and displays fine detail. The eyes are easily seen, and the individual thoracic segments are clearly defined. The dark brown color of the trilobite contrasts nicely with the grey matrix. The bug is well presented on the large natural plate of shale. This is a super specimen of Bumastus ioxus from the Silurian of New York.
