Here is a distinct example of Flexicalymene meeki from the Ordovician of Ohio. This specimen was found years ago in Monroe, Ohio, and just now prepared. This is not the more common Flexicalymene retrorsa, it is a F. meeki, easily recognizable by the distinct genal spines on this specimen. This extremely large Flexi is extremely inflated and beautifully articulated. The thick-shelled exoskeleton of the bug is very complete and finely detailed. The dark brown trilobite contrasts beautifully with the blue-grey matrix that also has a large Flexi on the back side of the plate! This is a very displayable Flexicalymene meeki from a very unusual locality.
