This is a unique multiple example of a very rare U. S. trilobite. It is a pair of complete Dechenella lucasensis from the famous Silica Shale deposits that produce beautiful Phacops trilobites. But this fossil was not found in Ohio, it is from the outcroppings in Milan, Michigan! This fossil was found many years ago and was recently acquired from a major trilobite collector, unprepared, and we just recently prepared it. Both outstretched bugs are fully inflated, the free cheeks are tightly attached, and the eyes are easily seen. The trilobites exhibit great detail - the beautifully preserved exoskeletons still have the fine surface pustulation intact. The golden brown color of the fossils contrasts wonderfully with the grey matrix. The bugs display well on both sides of the natural plate of shale. This is a fabulous multiple example of one of the most sought-after trilobites from the Silica Shale. Good luck finding another double!

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
