This is an extremely rare trilobite. It is a large Brianurus jeffersoni from Anticosti Island, Canada. This specimen was found YEARS ago, and was recently acquired from a major trilobite collection. This specimen is quite large - almost 2 inches long! The trilobite is extrmely prone and beautifully inflated. The bumpy glabella, typical of Encrinurid trilobites, is well displayed, and the knobby eyes are easily seen. The thick shell exoskeleton is wonderfully preserved, and the natural, chocolate-brown coloration contrasts beautifully with the limestone base. This is a very showy example of this incredibly rare trilobite, worthy of any trilobite collection.
