Here is an uncommon trilobite from the Southern Hemisphere. This is a very nice specimen of Lonchodomas suriensis from the Ordovician of Argentina. This outstretched trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. The trilobite has great color and contrast and is well presented on the natural block of shale. And the most distinct feature of this trilobite, the long nose spine, is intact and well displayed (the tip end of the spine is still buried and may be extracted at a later date!). This is a very fine example of a spiny Lonchodomas from Argentina.
Note: Argentina has now banned the export of all fossils. We will strictly abide by and enforce this law - we will not acquire new fossils from Argentina. However, this fossil was collected and exported prior to this law, and can be sold legally.
