This is an extremely well-prepared trilobite. It is a spectacular specimen of Cheirurus (Crotalocephalina) gibbus from the Devonian of Morocco. This beautiful specimen was meticulously prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. This large, outstretched trilobite is EXTREMELY 3-dimensional and wonderfully articulated. The detail of the trilobite is just amazing. The very small eyes are easily seen, and the short genal spines are quite evident. The triangular pleurons terminate in sharp points, and the distinct pygidial spines are intact and very impressive. The bug has outstanding color and contrast and is beautifully showcased on the unique block of sculpted limestone. The trilobite is even more impressive than what the pictures show. This is a very striking specimen of Crotalocephalina that could have only been prepared by a Master.
