Here is a HUGE specimen of Morocconites malladoides from the Devonian of Morocco. This fossil was professionally prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. This sleek trilobite has an extremely long, free-standing spine extending off the front of the cephalon. This ''Unicorn'' bug is extremely 3-dimensional and very well preserved in an outstretched position. The wonderfully articulated trilobite exhibits fabulous detail - even the tinu eyes have the facets preserved! The black color of the fossil contrasts strikingly with the light-colored matrix. The trilobite is beautifully showcased on the sculpted plate of dense limestone. This is not only a top quality example of Morocconites, it is the largest one we have ever seen!
