This is very detailed example of Lonchodomas suriensis from the Ordovician of Argentina. This trilobite is wider than it is long. The cephlon, thorax, and pygidium are wonderfully articulated. The individual thoracic segments are easily seen, and the distinctive triangular pygidium is nicely displayed. Both long genal spines are present, which is extremely rare (hard to see in photo). The bug has good color and contrast and is well presented on the natural plate of matrix that also contains a complete counterpart of another trilobite. This is a fine specimen of this elusive trilobite from South America.

Note: Argentina has now banned the export of all fossils. We will strictly abide by and enforce this law - we will not acquire new fossils from Argentina. However, this fossil was collected and exported prior to this law, and can be sold legally.
