This is a great Phacopid trilobite. It is a large Reedops cephalotes hamlagdadianus from the Devonian of Morocco. This complete trilobite is EXTREMELY 3-dimensional and wonderfully articulated. The bug is nicely outstretched and exhibits fine detail. The fossil has been prepared in very high relief so that it is elevated above the level of the surrounding rock. The trilobite has excellent, natural, greenish-brown coloration that contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The bug is well centered on the sculpted plate of dense limestone. This is a very displayable example of Reedops cephalotes hamlagdadianus from the Atlas Mountains.
