Here is a rare Middle Cambrian trilobite from China. This is Kummingaspis sp. from the Kailia Beds. This formation contains a fauna that is very similar to the famous Burgess Shale deposits of Canada. This bug is complete and nicely outstretched. It is wonderfully articulated and exhibits great detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The individual thoracic segments are easily seen and the short genal spines are clearly defined. Even the tiny pygidium is intact. The fossil has good color and contrast. It is well positioned on the rounded plate of matrix. This is a very "clean and crisp" example of this highly uncommon trilobite from China.
