Here is a large specimen of Dalmanites limulurus from the Silurian of New York. This trilobite is very prone and nicely articulated. The bug is somewhat inflated and exhibits good detail. Both genal spines and the extremely long caudal spine are nicely displayed. The individual lenses of the protruding, compound eyes are quite evident. The trilobite has excellent color and contrast. It is well positioned on the plate of matrix. This is a fine specimen of this "classic" trilobite from New York.
