Here is a fine example of Asaphiscus wheeleri from the Cambrian of Utah. This large trilobite is complete and very well articulated. The bug exhibits very fine detail - both free cheeks are present and tightly attached, which is quite unusual. This black trilobite has beautiful, thick exoskeleton that contrasts strikingly with the dark grey matrix. The bug also has a few bitten pleurons, as can be seen in the close-up photo. This is a very nice Asaphiscus wheeleri with free cheeks intact.
