Here is a complete specimen of an extremely rare trilobite. This is possibly a Reedops sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. This unusual type of Phacopid trilobite (used to be called Cryphops) has a smooth glabella and small compound eyes, which are positioned very low, towards the front of the cephalon. The low-slung eyes are wonderfully showcased on this specimen - most of the individual lenses are very clearly defined. The trilobite is very 3-dimensionally preserved in a crawling position. The thick-shelled exoskeleton exhibits great detail and has natural, dark brown coloration. The bug is nicely showcased on the sculpted block of dense limestone. And the trilobite even has two bitten and healed pleurons on the left side of the bug. This is a very displayable specimen of this highly uncommon trilobite.
