Here is a stunning specimen of Viaphacops bomifrons from the Devonian of Oklahoma. To find a Viaphacops this small is incredibly rare. This may be the smallest Viaphacops we have ever seen - and many times, wonderful things come in small packages. This unusual Phacopid trilobite is extremely 3-dimensional and almost perfectly prone. It is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fantastic detail. The pustules on the large glabella are easily seen and the individual facets of the eyes are well preserved. The dark-brown bug contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix and it is nicely positioned on the block of limestone. This is an outstanding example of Viaphacops bomifrons from the Bois d'Arc Formation of Oklahoma.
