This is a classic European trilobite. It is a large Ellipsocephalus hoffi from the Cambrian of the Czech Republic. The inflated bug has great detail and is wonderfully articulated. The trilobite has striking natural color and contrasts beautifully with the lighter-colored matrix. The fossil is wonderfully showcased on the natural plate of matrix that also contains other partial trilobites. This is a very fine specimen of Ellipsocephalus from a classic ''Old World'' site.
