Here is a very nice specimen of Asaphus (Neoasaphus) punctatus. This trilobite is from the Middle Ordovician of Russia. This type of trilobite has long eye stalks - not as long as A. kowalewskii, but much longer than A. cornutus. This trilobite is beautifully articulated and very prone on the matrix. the bug is extremely 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. The thick-shelled exoskeleton of the bug is wonderfully preserved. The caramel-brown color of the trilobite contrasts nicely with the light-colored matrix. The trilobite is well showcased on the natural block of limestone. This is a collectible example of this distinct Russian trilobite.
