Here is a highly detailed example of Modocia typicalis from the Middle Cambrian of Utah. This thick-shelled trilobite is complete and beautifully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The wide, curving genal spines are perfectly preserved, and the long pleural spines are wonderfully displayed. The black color of the trilobite contrasts extremely well with the light-colored matrix. The bug is well presented on a large, squared plate of shale. This is a very aesthetic trilobite with fabulous detail preserved.
