This is a fantastic specimen of Ornamentaspis sp. from the Cambrian of Morocco. This fabulous specimen was prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado, as are all of our Moroccan trilobites. This extremely inflated trilobite is complete with both free cheeks intact and tightly attached, which is highly unusual. The bug exhibits fine detail - the small, crescent-shaped eyes are easily seen, and the individual thoracic segments and tail are clearly defined - even the delicate genal spines are fully preserved! The trilobite has gorgeous, natural orange coloration that contrasts beautifully with the greyish-green matrix. An added bonus is that the full counterpart plate of this split pair is intact and beautifully displayed. This is easily the best example of this trilobite we have ever seen, anywhere.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
