This is a SPECTACULAR Ceraurus trilobite. It is a beautiful Leviceraurus mammilloides from Ontario, Canada. We acquired this breathtaking specimen from a major trilobite collector, unprepared, and prepared it ventrally in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. First, the trilobite is amazingly well articulated and almost perfectly prone. The thick shell exoskeleton is incredibly well-preserved, and the detail is just stunning. The sweeping genal spines are fully natural and unrestored, the long tailspines are fully natural and unrestored, well, you get the picture. And the distinct, bulbous hypostoma (mouthplate) is intact, in place, and prepared in a free-standing manner! This is one of the most impressive and ''textbook'' ventrally-prepared trilobites we have ever had. It is a super display piece - a rare, eye-popping showcase of the underside of the classic Canadian trilobite, Leviceraurus.
