This is a large Bumastus ioxus from the Rochester Shale of New York. This trilobite is complete and very 3-dimensional. The bug is quite prone and nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present, which is somewhat unusual. The chocolate-brown exoskeleton is nicely intact and well preserved. The brown trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the grey matrix. The bug is nicely presented on the natural-edged plate of shale. This is a large, detailed example of this classic Silurian trilobite.
