Here is a very pretty trilobite from the United States. This is Modocia typicalis from the Middle Cambrian of Utah. There is no restoration or reconstruction on this fantastic Modocia. This trilobite is very prone and nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present and the genal spines are exquisitely displayed. The bug is somewhat inflated and exhibits excellent detail. The sharply-pointed pleural spines are all intact and easily seen. This trilobite has gorgeous natural color. The reddish-brown fossil contrasts beautifully with the pinkish-orange matrix. It is almost perfectly centered on the large (3.3" X 3.5") squared plate of matrix. There are also one complete and many partial Agnostid trilobites on the plate of shale. This is a wonderful example of Modocia typicalis from the Marjum Shale.
