This is a wonderful spiny trilobite. It is a large Kettneraspis williamsi from the Haragan Formation of Oklahoma. This specimen was found by Steve Hess in 1994 and just now prepared. This outstretched trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits excellent detail. Both free cheeks are intact, which is somewhat unusual. The long genal spines and the thin pleural spines are beautifully displayed. The protruding eyes are easily seen, and the ''fringes'' of the free cheeks are clearly defined. The inflated bug has great color and contrast and is beautifully showcased on the sculpted plate of matrix. This is a complete example of Kettneraspis from the Haragan Formation of Oklahoma.
