Name:
Arthricocephalus pulchellus Age: Cambrian Formation: Lancastria Zone Location: China Size: Largest trilobite is 0.2 inches long! This specimen is not for sale Click here for similar specimens that are for sale
Here is a very unusual grouping of trilobites from the Cambrian of China. These are Arthricocephalus pulchellus from the Lancastria (Changaspis) layers. This ovoid trilobite is totally different in appearance to the Lancastrias found in the same formation. These tiny bugs (less than 1/4 of an inch long!) are wonderfully articulated and exhibit very fine detail (better than the photo shows). There are about a dozen examples on the plate, including many growth stage meraspis and holaspis examples. There is also a counterpart of a rare Arthricocephalus chauveaui on the plate. This is an excellent multiple example of this extremely uncommon Cambrian trilobite with rare growth stages preserved.
