This is a spectacular trilobite that we just finished preparing. It is a stunning specimen of Cheirurus (Crotalocephalina) gibbus from the Devonian of Morocco. This awesome trilobite was microscopically prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. This large, outstretched trilobite is EXTREMELY 3-dimensional and wonderfully articulated. The detail of the trilobite is just amazing. The very small eyes are easily seen, and the short genal spines have been prepared free-standing. The triangular pleurons terminate in sharp points, and the upswept pygidial spines are intact and have also been prepared in a free-standing position. The hypostoma, or mouthplate, of the trilobite is present and well displayed. The bug has outstanding color and contrast and is beautifully showcased on the pillar of sculpted limestone. The trilobite is much more impressive in person than what the pictures show. This is a very displayable specimen of Cheirurus (Crotalocephalina) gibbus - one of the best examples of this type ever prepared.
