This is probably THE classic US trilobite. It is an Elrathia kingi from Utah. This is probably the most prolific, and most famous, trilobite in the world. This specimen is a beautiful single trilobite centered on a squared plate of shale. The detailed bug is complete with both free cheeks intact and tight. The red trilobite is well-centered on the block, and contrasts beautifully with the lighter pink matrix. This is a very displayable example of an individual red Elrathia with free cheeks intact.
