Here is an unusual trilobite from the Cambrian of China. It is Arthricocephalus sp. from the Lancastria (Changaspis) layers but is much more uncommon and totally different in appearance. This ovoid trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits very fine detail (better than the photo shows). Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached, and even the rounded pygidium is intact. The bug has very good color and contrast and is beautifully centered on the natural plate of shale that also contains an impression of a different type of trilobite. This is an excellent example of this uncommon Cambrian trilobite.
