This is a classic US trilobite. It is a complete Isotelus maximus from Ohio. This type of trilobite is one of the most recognizable trilobites in the world, especially because of its maximum size. This type of trilobite has also been officially named the ''State Fossil of Ohio''. This specimen is complete, outstretched, and well preserved. The bug has very good detail - even the LONG genal spines are present. The chocolate-brown coloration of the fossil is naturally striking and contrasts beautifully with the large (8" X 12") blue-grey matrix block that also contains a Flexicalymene cephalon. This is a very nice, outstretched Isotelus maximus from the Cincinnati area.
