This is a wonderful specimen of Ornamentaspis sp. from the Cambrian of Morocco. This inflated trilobite is complete with both free cheeks intact and tightly attached, which is highly unusual. The bug exhibits fine detail - the crescent-shaped eyes are easily seen, and the individual thoracic segments are clearly defined. The trilobite has gorgeous, natural, orangish coloration that contrasts beautifully with the greyish-green matrix. The ancient arthropod is well centered on the rectangular plate of shale. This is a very displayable example of this unusual Cambrian trilobite.
