This is a fabulous specimen of Coronocephalus sp. from the Silurian of China. This type of trilobite has a small pustulose glabella and a pronged cephalic process. The anterior border of the cephalon is quite crenulated, and the large pygidium has short, thin spines along the pygidial border. This trilobite is hardly ever found with the free cheeks present, but this specimen is very well articulated - both free cheeks are intact! The long genal spines are also intact, which is extremely unusual. The natural yellow coloration of the trilobite contrasts strikingly with the greyish-brown matrix. The bug is beautifully showcased on the rectangular block of rock. This is a top quality example of Coronocephalina from China.
